new mouse bungee the Razer's

Razer, renowned purveyor of all kinda of mice, keyboards and other gaming shizzle, has announced that the Mouse Bungee is making a comeback. First rolled out in 1996, when men were men, and first person shooters required mad rocket jumping skillz, the bungee was applauded for its ability to... well... lift your mouse wire above the detritus on your desk, and make for a much smoother gaming ride.

While it was never an essential component in a gamer's arsenal, it did win some fans for sure. Its creator, Ed Larkin joined the Razer team in 2010, so we guess it was only a matter of time before this tipped up. The new styling is pleasing enough at any rate, resembling a pen holder that you might find in Tron Legacy.

You would be forgiven for thinking that in these days of wireless mice that such a peripheral was redundant. You couldn't be more wrong. The intended market for this crane-like desk ornament would scoff in the face of wireless interfaces, and then teabag its still-warm corpse. This is intended to be used by elite gamers. Gamers that use wires. Real wires. Gamers that get annoyed by when their mouse cable gets trapped under whatever rubbish builds up on their desks.
